In the first quarter of 2024, the beauty retail sector has seen considerable activity on the Android platform in Europe. Here's a snapshot of how the top five apps have performed, based on Sensor Tower data, with a focus on downloads and weekly active users.
Sephora - Make-up, Beauty experienced a notable uptick in downloads, starting the quarter at 25K and peaking at 86K by the end of March. Weekly active users mirrored this growth, with an increase from 106K in the first week of January to 180K in the last week of March.
Notino: perfumes and cosmetics, with its Czech origins, also saw a positive trajectory in downloads, spiking at 77K towards the end of March. Weekly active users for Notino surged from 178K to 253K during the same period, indicating a healthy engagement rate.
Douglas – Parfüm & Kosmetik showed more modest numbers with downloads hovering around the 17K to 24K range. However, weekly active users reached a high of 114K by late February, despite a slight dip to 102K at the quarter's end.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY, a relative newcomer to the app scene, had a varied quarter. Downloads climbed from 3K to a peak of 17K in late February before settling back to around 6K. Unfortunately, data on weekly active users was not available for this app.
Lastly, Superdrug - Beauty and Health maintained a steady pace in downloads, starting the quarter at 6K and reaching nearly 9K by March's end. The weekly active users for Superdrug showed a consistent increase from 19K to 23K over the quarter.
